Nonprofit Finance Fund’s 2025 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey now live! Share with your grantee partners.
In December 2024, a group of local funders partnered with the Nonprofit Finance Fund to collect data that speaks to the financial health of the nonprofit sector in Georgia. The Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF)’s 2025 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey – the 10th they have conducted – is an advocacy tool that gathers and widely shares the story of US nonprofits’ health. It looks at nonprofits’ collective challenges, successes, and the required investments to continue enriching millions of lives. Local funders have partnered NFF with to do a special analysis of the Georgia nonprofit sector.
To increase participation from the nonprofit community, we are asking sector and network leaders, to promote the survey. Given the timing of this survey, we believe there is even more urgent need to develop a statewide dataset of the health of nonprofits. Specifically, we would like to ask you to send out an invitation to your grantee networks throughout the state for participation. A draft communication is shared below so that you can easily copy and paste it into an email to your grantees.
Conducted in partnership with EVITARUS, the survey focuses on:
Investments needed to secure nonprofits’ long-term operational and financial health.
Government funding, real estate ownership, workforce well-being, and the implications of changes in federal policy.
Racial equity in nonprofit finance and funding.
Funding practices and how post-pandemic shifts have impacted nonprofits.
Nonprofits’ contributions to community prosperity.
The survey is live and closing on Friday, March 14th. Survey findings will be shared publicly in late 2025, and we are planning to host a webinar to share relevant information with Georgia grantmakers.

Dear Nonprofit Leader,
The national landscape is creating tremendous uncertainty for nonprofits and the people we serve. There has never been a more critical time to share what’s going on for nonprofits and how we all can support the organizations that play an essential role in our communities.
Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF)’s 2025 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey – the 10th they have conducted – is an advocacy tool that gathers and widely shares the story of US nonprofits’ health. It looks at nonprofits’ collective challenges, successes, and the required investments to continue enriching millions of lives. This year, a collective of local funders is supporting NFF to do a special analysis of the Georgia nonprofit sector and your response is needed to tell that story.
We at [ORGANIZATION NAME] are proud to help NFF reach as many nonprofit leaders as possible to make this dataset a powerful resource. NFF and its partners will amplify your aggregated, anonymized voices to those who fund and support your invaluable work, advocating for what you need to serve now and well into the future.

The survey closes on March 14 th and aggregate findings will be released in late 2025. The experiences you share will help shape findings that can be used to advocate for better, more equitable funding practices. Several partners are helping to spread the word about this collective effort; please complete only one NFF State of the Nonprofit Sector survey if you receive multiple requests.
We encourage you to share this opportunity with as many other nonprofit leaders as you can. Every voice matters and together we can use this valuable data to drive meaningful change. Thank you – we recognize the significant commitments you are balancing right now and are deeply grateful for your time.
With appreciation,
