Bridging Georgia’s Communities through Philanthropy
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2010 as an affinity group within Southeastern Council of Foundations (now Philanthropy Southeast), Georgia Grantmakers Alliance (GGA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, participant organization committed to supporting grantmakers across the state of Georgia in their efforts to make a transformational difference in all of Georgia’s communities.
We believe in the power of collaboration to make a significant and lasting impact, breaking down silos, and fostering better understanding and direct connections between grantmakers, resources, and communities. Thanks to the supportive and nurturing partnership with Philanthropy Southeast, we have developed to the point of recently establishing our own organizational infrastructure.
This recent transition marks a significant milestone in our journey, enabling us to broaden our impact and serve our community with enhanced focus.
HOW WE WORK
Grantmakers in our community have access to:
A network of other grantmakers across the state
Learning opportunities within and beyond the grantmaking community
Public Policy information and resources relevant to Georgia
All grantmakers who share a vision for a better Georgia are welcome to join us in our mission to make a transformational difference and improve the lives of all Georgians. Together, we can create a brighter future for our state. Participation is not contingent on membership in any other organization, and no barriers to participation exist.
GGA does not dictate the practice of grantmaking nor serve as a partisan or lobbying entity. We are an organization for grantmakers. While our programs are not a venue for nonprofits to solicit funding, we do aim to support grantmakers in identifying areas of need by often inviting nonprofits to brief funders on the most pressing issues impacting communities across the state.
Our Goals
Convene
Support a robust community of Georgia grantmakers, open to all types of funders that invest in nonprofits working in Georgia communities.
Learn
Explore statewide issues, public policy, and their implications for grantmakers and nonprofits and the communities that they serve.
Educate
Share knowledge to increase grantmakers’ understanding of the impact of public policy and empower them to influence issues of importance to their organizations.
Connect
Highlight opportunities for grantmakers to expand their reach by aligning with other investors and public capital to catalyze equitable outcomes.
